Been a while >>

So um, I got Sai. A friend of mine got me into it and now I'm friggen addicted. I'm still pretty noobish at it, but it's defiantly helped me improve as far as digital work goes. Sorry in particular for the wobbly lines, I found the linework layers after I did this ^^'

I'm actually kind of proud of this, considering my last digital attempt was this: [link] but I know that I definitely need more practice xD Especially in the fire department. And vector. Yeah.

Anyway, idea with this was to draw Charmander as a salamander-raptor...thing. I tried to make him look slimy with all the shines, but not quite sure I achieved that xD"

Still can't do backgrounds...xD

Done in Paint Tool Sai, took several hours (mostly playing around ahah...)

Yeah... backgrounds are killers. So are flames, their an utter pain. There was a flame tutorial that I saw on DA at one point by jadeitor (?). But I

the blending you did for this, it really gives it a lizardy look to it~

Yeh, apparently he was the hardest one to choose for a starter. D: Treecko was from Ruby, right? I think I played that game, but it was kinda confusing for me. Red and Silver were my favorites. XD

Oh! And I was going to say if you need/want any tips or help on digital coloring in Sai feel free to let me know. ^^ I'll be happy to help you out.

Yeah, he really was D: He was really strong until I got to the elite four, and then he was pretty much useless xD" Ruby was my favorite, but I can see why it was confusing; I had a hard time getting used to it after I played Crystal >.> I never played the old Silver, but I'm pretty addicted to the remake now lol.

Och, thank you ^^ Actually, what method do you use to blend colors? I've been using the water tool, but I can never quite get the settings down otl.

You're welcome. Hm, I don't tend to color much in Sai but when I do I use the Water tool (the one on the top row.) With it's regular settings, it tends to blend really well. The others don't do as good a job in my opinion.

What exactly is it doing? Are you having trouble getting the colours to blend smoothly?

It's not doing anything wrong, I've just been playing with it trying to make it work for soft cell shading xD probably something I should be avoiding since I'm still so new at it lol
